Norma was born November 2, 1953 in Kirkland Lake, ON. She started her career with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) as a police dispatcher in Cochrane in 1972, then served in Southern Ontario before transferring to the North Bay Communications Centre in the early 90’s. She played a key role in the transitions to a Regional Communications Centre and finally to Provincial Communications Centre North Bay. Norma retired June 13th 2005 as a CO3 (Senior Communications Operator) having trained many new operators. She became involved in the Ontario Provincial Police Veterans Association (OPPVA) after retirement serving as Branch 12 Secretary and Director for the OPPVA Provincial Board.
